Deliciously Indulgent Apple Dumplings to Warm Your Heart
Warm, buttery Apple Dumplings are a comforting delight, featuring tender pastry and a sweet, spiced apple filling, ideal for family gatherings or cozy evenings.
- 2 large apples peeled and cored
- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare your apples: Peel, core, and slice them into quarters.
Roll out the pie crusts and cut them into squares large enough to wrap around the apple segments.
Wrap each apple segment in the pie crust squares, sealing the edges well.
Place the wrapped dumplings in a greased baking dish.
Melt the butter and mix in sugar, water, and cinnamon to create a sauce, then pour over the dumplings.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Serve warm, spooning some of the sauce over the dumplings.
