Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tsp pink food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for frosting
  • 1-2 tbsp milk for frosting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and pink food coloring until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Prepare the frosting by combining powdered sugar and milk to reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  • Once the cookies are cool, frost them with the prepared icing, and let them set.
